Jie Tang

Dr. Tang Jie is currently an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering from Southeast University in 1994 and 1997 respectively, and his PhD in Engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2000. From 2002 to 2004, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University, and has been working there ever since. In 2013, he was a senior visiting scholar at Purdue University's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the United States from July 2013 to February 2014. His research focuses on parallel computing, big data, and intelligent analysis and modeling in related fields. He has led more than ten projects such as the National Twelfth Five-Year Science and Technology Major Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Jiangsu High-Tech Program (Industrial Part), and the Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation. He has also collaborated extensively with companies such as Sinopec on the intelligent analysis and modeling of massive geological data, and has undertaken various scientific research projects related to high-performance computing and geological content analysis. Some of the results have been successfully applied in Sinopec's production application, achieving good economic and social benefits. He has published more than 50 papers in domestic and international academic conferences and journals, and has been awarded the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by the National Defense Science and Technology Commission once and has been granted six national invention patents.
