National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Computer Science Technology and Software Engineering
After the establishment of the Department of Computer Science in 1978, the Electronic Circuit Laboratory for Computing Technology and the Logic Circuit Laboratory for Mathematical Logic was established as the Teaching Center Laboratory. In 2003, it was renamed as The Comprehensive Laboratory of Computer Science Experimental Teaching. In 2005, it was established as the Computer Science and Technology Experimental Teaching Center with the Computer Basic Teaching Department. In 2007, it was established as the Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Jiangsu Province. In 2011, the Jiangsu Provincial Software Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and Jiangsu Geographic Information System Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center established the Computer Science Technology and Software Work Demonstration Center to support and radiate the experimental teaching of computer professional courses in all departments of the school. In 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to build a national experimental teaching demonstration center, which has become an important multidisciplinary talent training experimental teaching base of Nanjing University.
Every year, the center conducts experimental teaching for more than 4,000 students from 26 majors and different grades in the school, and offers 17 experimental courses and more than 700 experimental projects.
The center takes computer system ability training as the core aims at cultivating students' scientific research innovation ability, engineering practice ability, and discipline integration ability, and emphasizes the integration of knowledge, skills, and thinking.
