
Tong Lu received the B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Nanjing University in 1997 and 2005, respectively. He served as an Assistant Professor, an Associate Professor, and a Full Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Nanjing University in 2005, 2007, and 2013, respectively. He has served as a Visiting Scholar with the School of Computing, National University of Singapore, and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is also a member of the State Key Laboratory of Novel Software Technology in China. He has published over 200 papers on IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TIP, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TMM, IEEE TCSVT, Pattern Recognition, CVPR, ICCV, NIPS, AAAI, IJCAI, ECCV, ICLR, ACM MM, etc, authored four books/book-chapters in his area of interest, and issued more than 50 international or Chinese invention patents. He also mentored students to win gold prizes of a series of global challenges consisting of CVPR Waymo’22, ECCV’23 Ego4D, and WSDM Cup’23 Toloka VQA. He is currently the Deputy Dean of Department of Computer Science and Technology, Nanjing University. His current interests include computer vision and pattern recognition algorithms/systems.
